Why a Lawyer Should Be Town Justice?

Lawyers bring years of experience navigating the legal system from the inside, drafting arguments, analyzing evidence, advocating for clients, and finding solutions that uphold both justice and humanity. That experience teaches humility and balance. It builds an instinct for fairness that comes not from power, but from service.

A lawyer would make a far better Town Justice than someone from a law enforcement background because justice isn’t about policing people, it’s about serving them. The role of a judge is to interpret the law fairly, not to enforce it through a narrow lens of authority. Lawyers are trained to listen, to weigh both sides carefully, and to see the human story behind every case. They understand that the courtroom isn’t a command post – it is a place where fairness, rights, and compassion must guide every decision.

A lawyer brings not only the knowledge of the law, but also the temperament and integrity to uphold it with compassion and independence. That’s the kind of leadership that restores trust in our courts. That’s the kind of justice our town deserves.
